Due to the unseasonable cold winter and spring the

pool water temperatures are around 60 degrees

and very cold for swimming longer than a few minutes at a time.

DHEC (Department of Health & Environmental Controls) regulates pool safety in South Carolina but does not enforce minimum water temperature swimming. However, the CDC and other national organizations due publish recommendations.  For those planning to swim in the next few weeks please read the following attachment that explains the dangers of cold water swimming.

We want the community to be safe and enjoy all the amenities. You are still welcome to enjoy the pool decks and play in the shallow water kiddy area. But with these official recommendations we ask members to refrain from swimming more than a few minutes at a time until the water warms up.

• Current MBG&YC pool wrist identification band must be displayed at All times while inside the pool fenced area.

• No alcoholic beverages allowed in pool area.

• Proper swimming attire required - no cut offs or thong suits allowed.

• No person within the pool grounds shall behave in such a manner as to jeopardize the safety and health of themselves or others. Such behavior, including abusive or profane language, shall be grounds for expulsion.

• No diving, ball playing, or cannon-balling into the pool.

• An adult must accompany children under the age of 13 at all times

• Floats may be used diving non-peak firm. Floats are not allowed during crowded conditions, which will be determined by security officer on duty.

• Children under the age of 4 years may not use pools unless wearing a flotation device.

• Anyone not toilet trained (incontinent) most wear a clean diaper covered by separate rubber/vinyl pants, all of which must fit snugly around the legs and want.

• Plastic containers and small coolers allowed. Glass containers are not allowed.

• Radios or tape players are permitted but sound level must be inoffensive to others.

• Trash containers are provided. Please clean your area before leaving pool.

• Pets are not allowed in pool or tennis court areas.

• Persons under the age of 13 are not allowed to use Spa.

• No smoking allowed within fenced area of pool.
